anon : Not sure how far it extends in Calgary and beyond but I have been having email issues with all accounts using Shaw's outgoing server (shawmail.cg.shawcable.net) on and off since late yesterday. Messages I sent at 4 PM yesterday were not delivered until 10 PM. For the last hour I could not send anything -- Outlook always returned an error "421 #4.4.5 Too many connections to this host"

I called Shaw tech support and the first thing the recorded message says is that they are experiencing a "brief technical issue" re: sending and receiving of email.

Not much fun since Shaw prevents residential accounts from using third party mail servers for outgoing.

Just thought I'd post in case it was helpful for others.
