I'm in Danville and have FiOS. I'm wondering what the future holds for me in regards to Fairpoint being able to continue offering me this service.

I don't work for FairPoint so have no inside knowledge but it is my understanding as a condition of the sale they committed to support it. They will need to come up with a new name since FIOS is a Verizon trademark.

Rumor has it Verizon was actually much further along FIOS roll out in terms of engineering and equipment purchases then was made public. That info was not made public in case the deal fell through. What this means is that a lot of the heavy lifting to roll out FIOS has already been done.

Lets hope FairPoint is able to take advantage of it.
