The move follows a shake-up of speed camera funding rules which mean the Treasury keeps proceeds of fines and then makes road-safety grants to councils. now that the council(s) no longer recieve any of the fine revenue, their removal will result in lower council tax... about £5 a year would by my calculation {about 79k properties paying council tax in Swindon...}
