Went to DTV one day ago after being a COX customer since 1996.
Drop the phone service and now cable TV. The internet is next. I have been paying for the premium hi speed for over 2 years and never got the download speed they claim. I have called so many times to try to work with them but they don't care. I drop down to the next level of service and wow I am getting the same speed. The FCC should step in soon. They are already on comcast case for charging for service speeds that customers never get. If FIOS was here I would be gone yesterday. Consider going to DSL soon.
I share many if not all your complaints. The biggest insult is not being able to get resolution to these product complaints: if you buy a product as advertised, it's not what you were told you were buying but is labelled as such for the money of what you thought you were buying (and what was advertised), this is a big problem, a huge ethical and contract violation in commerce.

I started conducting speed tests on my cable over a year ago after living with crawling connections (Cox cable), only to find it was pitifully slow. Continues to be:
