Wow. Some crazy stuff there but justifiably so as the images linked to a great.
My setup, if you can believe it..
With my right hand I hold the K10D with the Viv S1 105 pre-focused to the distance I *think* I can get from the critter all the while holding a Promaster 7500 EDF flash in wireless mode in my left hand. Trap-focus makes it all happen. |

Do you have a "slave trigger" on your cam's hot shoe?
Action_Man,
Was that bug dead? |

| Not for macro. I use the small pop-up flash to trigger the main flash. I can adjust the output of the on-board flash easily from harsh to nill and the same with the main flash. No wires, no mess. I bounce and reflect a bunch however, and I use trap-focus almost exclusively. There are different setups but this works for me. |

| Yes i have used the slave flash hand-held, triggered by the on-board flash, its really useful in the field, when you dont want to lug heavy flash brackets about with you.
As for the Woodlouse, no it wasent dead, and it still isent, well it wasent the last time i saw it ... |
