Cogeco or Sympatico?

Hello,

I live in an area where Cogeco high speed and Sympatico is available. I know Sympatico service in my area is up to 16mbps and I live a block from the remote and have read the reviews but I am stuck. I do not know which service is better. I download stuff and use Bell for my other services so can anyone tell me which one is better?

They both have their pros and cons. The 16Mb service from Sympatico is almost $100 a month which is rather pricey, and you have to consider that you may not actually get a full 16Mb connection. However, you do get 100Gb of bandwidth with that package, which isn't that much depending on how much you download.

Cogeco I believe offers 10Mb service for around $50, but that has a 60Gb cap on it. But I believe they do have some higher tiers with more cap and possibly slightly more speed for less per month or equal that then what Bell is offering.

You can get faster speed with cogeco, and my torrents haven't been throttled their either, I can get 1.5 MBps, through bell not so much, only 150 KBps.

Generally you can get cogeco for the same/cheaper then bell, for instance Cogeco 16 meg I believe is 64.95, cheaper if you bundle digital cable too, 100gig cap.

Bell Total Internet Max is 87.95 same cap, and will charge you 1.00 per gig after with NO maximum.

But then again you could get on a crowded node and not get nearly that speed with cogeco. As well bell is throttling torrents so you might be stuck with that too.

Overall Cogeco has been pleasant to deal with, service has always been up unless power is out.

Bell , well thats up for you to decide.

Hope this helps
