remember when Belkin had great customer service?

i stayed with Belkin because the service was by far the best i'd ever encountered.

but i just bought another router and when i called for help with bridging them... i got a call center in India.

they were not familiar with the technology... only reading from scripts. polite, but english skills were lacking.

this was at 2pm central time.... and i wasn't able to get the help i needed.

Belkin...! your sevice was what made you awesome. now it's just another piece of hardware.

 As long as the vast majority of people demand cheaper cheaper cheaper and make their purchasing decisions pretty much only on that, decent technical support will be history. When operating on such slim margins, a well staffed knowledgable tech support department is impossible.
