@shawcable.net

it must be christmas, in july?

i am doing a download and it is going at 1.2mb/s i acatally getting my full speed. i find it unusual that shaw would allow full speed on the connection they offer. did they finally complete the docsis 1.1 upgrade they were planning a decade ago?

ps i know am being sarcastic its been a while since i felt like i recieved my money's worth. actally shaw's been hurtin lately here in kelowna. maybe they finally ubgraded some of their near obsolete network in this area,

I hit 1.9 MB/s on a download last night. Move to Calgary. :P

That said, the rarity of hitting those sorts of speeds is usually an issue with the source, rather than one's ISP.

Its true, 2 days ago i was downloading 5 torrents at a sustained combined rate of ~700-800k/sec (well seeded torrents) looking at the graph utorrent makes i even hit 1350k/sec at one point for a long time.

Never recieved speeds like that before.

I can sustain 1.2 here in kelowna, Only on the usenets though. It will spike to 1.4 but always settles out.
