koheisho : I just recently (maybe a week or so) started experiencing the same problems you describe in the 60005 zip code in Arlington Heights. Specifically while playing CoD4 and Crysis on-line, before that my connection had been rock-solid. One thing that I noticed specifically was that the modem has been losing synch, i.e. all the lights except the DS light and power light go out.
I had a technician out today who stated the the upstream signal strength was to high, (in the 50's) and he added a 6 db filter to the line. That did not resolve the problem. He then replaced the splitter on the outside of the house and replaced the Arris modem as well. A half-hour after he left the problem re-occurred several times. I have noticed that the synch seems to fail mostly under heavy load, such as the initial server poll in Cod or in Crysis. I'll update you if I get any more data.

WOW customer in 60005
