| Alexandria: Man Robbed Helping Another on Huntington Ave
This kind of shit really makes me mad. I'm up and down Huntington Ave almost daily.
At least the good Samaritan wasn't seriously hurt.
I guess the moral of the story is be aware of your surroundings, and call for backup first.

The attack occurred about 2 a.m., when the Alexandria area victim, 41, got out of his car in the 2200 block of Huntington Avenue to help the man in the street, police said. The other robber, armed with a handgun, jumped the victim, who handed over his cash and was kicked in the stomach by one of the assailants, police said. The assailants got into a car driven by a third man, and the car headed toward Telegraph Road. The victim was taken to Inova Alexandria Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. -- eSteve

| reply to eSteve This setup really should bring extra punishment for the perps. Not only do they take the guy's money, not only do they discourage him from helping in the future, but they discourage everyone that hears the story. They make the whole world a little worse. -- 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 |

| reply to eSteve Not much of a description of the perps or their car in the article. I'd like to think I'd stop and help someone in need but would appreciate info about these men so I could be extra careful should I come across a similar situation. Maybe the vic was hurt too bad to give a description past their gender? |

| I remember using a similar con to catch rides a long while back - We would have the best looking girl in our group stand on the road with her thumb out and when someone stopped we (maybe 1-3 others) would come out from behind bushes or such and jump in before the "vic" had time to drive off.
This stunt mentioned takes this to another level and is disgusting. I too hope they do get caught and have to "pay the price" for beating and robbing a good Samaritan. |
