The ULSD fuels have had other lubricity agents added at the refinery. You're not supposed to need additional additives.

If this is not the case, there are a lot of us that are going to descend on the EPA to recover the cost of replacing engines.

We have a 1999 Dodge Truck with a Cummins Diesel Engine.

With the advent of the new highway diesel (5ppm sulfur) I am trying to weigh the pros and cons of using an additive to get the sulfur level up. I have heard that the sulfur was beneficial to extend the life of the engine.

I have seen both sides of the argument where some people use an additive, and then others who do not.

Do you use an additive to add sulfur back into the fuel?
Is there any benefit to adding sulfur (or other additives) to your fuel?
