Except the OTA channels will be and already are in HD for the most part.

This is simply not true. Many MANY shows are not broadcast in HD and they will NOT miraculously be shown in HD in February. They WILL BE broadcast digitally.

Such as syndicated shows and many local stations news broadcast. Reality shows.

HD=High Definition is an apple to orange comparison to Digital Broadcast Signal.
