All you can really do is price the competition DSL, Dish and Directv. Get you numbers and total costs down and the go talk with Charter again. Just be prepared to go through with a move. In case you get a rep who either doesn't give a darn or thinks you're bluffing and doesn't transfer you to retention.
I had to go that route just this past week. Dealt with a rep at the local office who didn't know they had 16M plans for sale in the Upstate Sc. Didn't want to deal until they saw and heard the printed out pricing offered by the competition. As soon the heard and saw I was for real fliers, pamphlet's and pricing sheets came out of nowhere. A few minutes more and new pricing was offered on the bundles. -- "Sir SIR! We don't use DHCP servers. We only use IBM & Microsoft servers." From there my call to tech support went steadily downhill.
