Why?

Why are people bothering with music on mobiles now? I really don't see the point when a phone is supposed to be a PHONE, not an all-in-one media device. I have custom ringtunes on my phone but that's just about it....and it's not any of the nonsense the Verizon/Sprint stores are offering..

I'll leave CD/MP3/other audio players and computers to play my music, TYVM.

The question is why not?
My cell phone is already an MP3 player, internet browser, video game system and phone all in one. It's only going to get smaller and better as technology advances.

Why carry a laptop computer, PSP, Ipod and cell phone if you can get it all in one?

edit: I forgot TV.

I'm waiting for them to add Phazer, stun gun, and wormhole teleporter to the phone before I buy....

I think you can get a stun gun that looks like a phone. Not sure if there is a real phone with stun capabilities. Would be convenient but probably cut battery talk time considerably.

The thing is, as you get start getting into your 40's and beyond, you'll find you simply can't SEE all the data on those little screens and buttons for all those wonderful options anymore. So their existence becomes meaningless.

The nephews double over laughing watching me trying to type out a text message.

Yeah my car has a few hundred mp3s on CD - Then again going out and buying a nice headunit IS BETTER than a phone that will only last you 4 years tops...haha.

You still have to be able to see both the screen and the letters on the keyboard clearly.

And when you add hand tremors into the mix....
