Trust me. The Shaw modem and your choice of router is a far better and more reliable solution. The 2Wire is a royal piece of crap as is the Siemens that Telus offers. I have Shaw currently and I've used both of Telus' wireless gateways before and the Shaw modem with my basic Linksys wireless router has been rock solid in comparison.

Calgary, AB		 Bet you never thought of calling in and letting them know that you have a possibly defective modem, so it could be swapped out for one that doesn't misbehave, did you?
