| So whats the latest verdict on Ygnition these days?
Hello, I just found out my Apartment is giving Cox Comm the boot out and getting Ygnition in... From the old posts from a few years ago they sucked... Hope they have improved their service... I am losing my 15mbit/1mbit service and really don't want to be forced back to 3mbit or less...
And this is just after renewing my lease too...
Oh and the pamphlet I was giving CLAIMS I will be getting AMAZING download and upload speeds that are much faster than what i am getting...
All this from a T1 line shared among hundreds of residents...
Sigh...

| reply to Moondog2010 I'm in the same situation (probably the same place) but I left for the weekend and hadn't got a pamphlet yet (only the notice from cox) so I'm not sure what they are offering... I believe we can still get 1.5 mbps dsl service from qwest and I will be looking into it next week... in scottsdale their analog tv service lineup is great which my dvr would love but I'm not even sure if they are offering (premium) analog in glendale. One review I read of ygnition's internet service stated it was like sharing dialup with 10-20 people. But like most reviews, they are a few years old. Personally I don't think a t3 would be enough to serve the complex.
I'm also supposed to be in vegas the week of the change so I'm not sure if I can be there for the install and to my knowledge they don't allow self installs.
I'd like to know who even considered this... though looking at prices on the ygnition web site and knowing dish's bulk rates and seeing a 7-8% franchise fee its conceivable the complex is getting a sizable kickback which probably beats paying for the basic cable increase (I'm not sure if they pay anything for basic cable but the timing makes me think they do).
BTW, I too just renewed my lease the week before which really makes me mad... now I wish I hadn't. |

| For an update... I got some info from ygnition and they seem to think they will be at 4.5Mbps for the community. They also informed me that the television lineups and pricing were not set yet for the community even though I picked up a packet from the office that implied it was... including the same premium analog lineup that was in Scottsdale.
It sure seems like they are taking their time for a switch that should take place in under 3 weeks. Though the packet the office had dated July 3, stated 30-60 days but cox says they are out by Aug 1 so we may be without any service for a month. Supposedly dish is offering new (HD) packages on the same date so they may need to wait for those to get finalized as their info today would be out of date. |
