| [Troubleshooting] Slowing connection
I started using Axcess last week and it was working great until yesterday afternoon. It's downloading at about an eighth of the speed that it used to, and it's disconnecting much more frequently. It usually works at its old speed for about 10 minutes or so after restarting the computer. The average signal strength has also dropped from around 65% to 50%, but I wasn't sure if that could account for the dip in quality.
Any ideas as to why this is happening? |

| reply to Scrow I've read quite a few posts in this forum to 'get to know my service' and have determined that signal strength does indeed effect your speed. My friend who has the same service and same access card lives about 4 miles away from me. He gets 4 full bars and can download @ 180-190kb/s all day. I however can only get 2 bars (60-70%) and my downloads run from 50-80kb/s max. It'll start in the 100kb/s+ range but quickly falls down to the avg. I'm sure there are plenty of other people who can contribute to this but my real world test/hypothesis seems to be valid. -- Vista Ultimate 64bit, 4gb G.Skill DDR2 800mhz, Athlon X2 6400+ Black Edition, 2x Diamond HD3870 512mb DDR4 PCIe2.0 (xfire), 650w PSU, 2x 200gb HDD, Antec 900 Gaming Case |
