All a matter of usage. In terms of general internet usage, frankly, any of them will do just fine. If you need gigabit wired connectivity, the DLink 655 or Linksys 310N become smart choices, the Linksys WRT 160N is fine for a basic "N" router, but with not as strong range as the 310N, or the DLink 655...the 160N is a 2 antenna design.
The WRT54G2, is Linksys' latest version of a basic "G" router, and if that is all you need (and for many, it is!), that is fine.
If you have nothing that calls for better than a "G" wireless connection, and your distances are not a big issue, then frankly the WRT 54G2 may be just great. On the other hand, of the afore-mentioned routers, I would say that the DLink Dir 655 is probably the most robust, especially in it's handling of QOS which for gaming can be a valuable asset, particularly if you have multiple users on the network. -- ...something is happening here but you don't know what it is...do you, Mr. Jones? |
