Looks like EA is breeding a new race of expansions à la Sims! Meet Crysis Warhead... funny how Crytek and EA whined that the "bad" sales were due to PC pirating.
What a bunch of sad losers, the only reason this game didn't do so well is because it was optimized to run for a NASA computer. So many had to run it on low to get decent framerate that when you take the eye candy out of the equation of a very regular game as far as gameplay is concerned, you get less happy people.
I'm happy I could get 40fps on high settings, it did look beautiful, but the rest was nothing new. Now about a year later they drop this, and are apparently working on Crysis 2 as well.
EA= epic fail. Crytek, get a new publisher. |

| How do you compare this to the Sims?
The reason the game didn't do well is because there were so many whiners on the net saying it was bad, when it wasn't. Too many people listened and didn't even try the game.
and as for low quality? It still looked better in low quality than most games did in high. I ran it when it came out on a 5 year old p4 3.2ghz and a 6800 ultra. Ran it on medium settings just fine. It was still playable and a fun game. Just a tad short. |

| I bought the game and finished it. Had it pre-ordered for a while, didn't read reviews before. I came up with my own idea of the game.
It still isn't properly optimized yet and less than a year later are launching another game. How about fixing the bugs of the first one before bringing out a new title?
Just asking... |

I never encountered a single bug when I played, neither did my friends who played. |

I was stuck twice in two levels because I somehow managed to swim through textures (in the cave first) and ended up where I wasn't suppose to. I ended restarting the level after 45minutes, turns out it was bugged.
After that, the level where you need to run from fired cars to fired card to heat up the suit of your teammate. I tried for 40 minutes... turns out there were no fire the first time I loaded the game.
Those were the two minor ones. There also the cache crashing bug, the few graphic glitches.... and the fact their entire engine is optimized like shit.
Thanks for reading! |

I'm fairly sure you'll find plenty of entertaining videos from people who did in fact encounter a variety of bugs. Will they be fixed? Not when EA can just shove a sequel out the door. -- Four gods wait on a windowsill, Where once eight gods did war and will. And if the gods themselves may die, What does that say for you and I? |

| reply to TigerLord FYI, Crysis sold over one million copies. It sold just fine. The reports of it not doing well were in December, but sales picked up after that.

Margolis Premium join:2003-11-24 Saint Louis, MO | reply to TigerLord I never said there couldn't be bugs. I said I had never encountered any, and nobody I know who played it did. That's why I asked "what bugs".
And no game is bug free. |
