Trendnet wireless router problems

Hello people,

I bought this trendnet 54mbps wireless router about a year ago, and I use the router for two computers with comcast internet. My roomie's laptop and mine experience constant disconnections from the router. it doesnt matter if we're using p2p or without, the router just constantly drops the connection...he uses vista and i use xp...it's been like this for the entire year....

are there any suggestions to improve its performance or do u guys recommend buying a new router?

Dropped connections are frequently a fault of the client, and not necessarily of the router. If there are other wireless access points / routers in range, your laptops may be trying to associate with them instead of staying locked to your router. There are several settings in the client that deal with associations / promiscuity, and these settings vary by model. Might be something to check into before you buy another router.

i set my router to a default connection (mine) because whenever i turn my wireless on, it automatically configures to connect to my internet and not others'.
