Hello,

I am in a hotel and have a problem with the internet. The system is comprised of a 6000/1000 cable connection. I am not sure what cable modem there is,but I can find out tomorrow, and the manager said it will be upgraded by the cable company this Monday. the modem is wired to the router,a Cisco 851 wired router,"No Wireless" on the router itself. there are 3 AP's 2,4 and 5. I do not know the brand and model of the AP's or even if they are AP's and not routers. Attached to this post is the txt of info I got from a program called Look@Lan.

The problem I am having is it seems when there is a spike in traffic AP4 quits ,,,"My Signal",,, and the only way to get the signal back is to remove the power to AP4 essentially rebooting it. Ap2 will be the next to go out,and AP5 will keep a connection.

The Hotel will not let the Cable Co come in yet as they will take out everything here and install their own Equipment,Bu-co Bucks...

I am wanting a sort of quick and dirty fix to not have AP4 conk out... I am on the belief that the AP's are mis matched brands/types or AP4 is just not capable of the traffic, but I know little about this crap aside from google... I am going to put forth a proposition to the Manager and fix the problem for rent reduction as I am stuck her for at least 3 more weeks...

The attached txt files are from the Look@Lan program there seems to be a bridged AP 2&4 and a separate AP 5... I am on the Dual Radio Bridge,I believe!.

if I missed info or you need more please ask...

Thanks for any input.

Are the APs running the latest firmware?

Once you find out what brand/model they are, search the net to see if other people have stability issues with them.

Perhaps they are a cheap and nasty piece of hardware that cannot handle the type of environment you are using it in, possibly due to dodgy firmware.

If two of them reboot and the other doesnt, have you tried moving the one that doesnt reboot into the position of one that does, and vice versa to see if the same issue occurrs? Perhaps two of the 3 are faulty and need to be replaced?
