It's pretty easy actually. These loops are A5 loops from Bell wholesale. Each pair has it's own circuit number.

The total cost we have to pay to Bell is well below your 150$/m. Of course you need to add peering transit, power, equipment at the CO, colo fees, staff to maintain the network and finally the modem.

It's SHDSL, no fixed profile (the best I can get). Now it's syncing at 2.68MBps each pair (there are 4 copper pairs from Bell CO's to home). Bell installed me a 6 pairs cable from the street to the home's demarc. I runned a CAT5e from demarc to my room to carry the 4 connected pairs to the Zhone EtherXtend 3044 modem. The lines are connect to CO Papineau to a colocated Zhone MALC DSLAM and connected to my workplace's fiber.

SNR average is 9, Attenuation average is 21

Link is rock solid, 2ms with the first hop, 11ms to reach Google!
