Rickz0rz : So I had a friend who moved from New Balitmore, MI to Clinton Township, MI. Two different Comcast systems. They had a Moto DVR (one of the newer ones... DCH?) with their old Comcast system and took it with them, since their service wasn't terminated at their old address yet. Their new address also had Comcast service that wasn't terminated yet. Upon hooking the box up, it actually worked! And to my surprise (I wasn't there when they hooked it up) it actually kept the old channel mappings, even though the new system had different mappings! The only caveats were the Weather Channel not displaying, and a channel called Global we have in New Baltimore that was mapped as an educational channel.

Still, pretty trippy nonetheless! Everything worked--guide data, DVR, OnDemand... totally nuts.

And yes, I told them they should take it back and get a new box when they get it hooked up. But still, I was amazed!
