Re: AP makes me long in a second time ?

Even when I log out using the web GUI, I still need to log in a second time, in most cases.

Then either you're using IE or you told FF to remember your password, neither of which will work. As long as FF doesn;t try to remember your password and you close it after logging off the AP, the next time you fire up FF and connect to the AP, you should only have to logon once.

Anyway, shouldn't you be complaining to Rich?

He'd be better off to just buy new radios from someone who fully supports their product and the community like Deliberant!

Hi all:

Thanks for the suggestions. Yep, I think I did tell it to remember the passwords on both programs.

I'll try it without remembering the passwords.

I basically like the radios. Power and receive sensitivity are great. The small size helps reduce wind load.

In CPE mode I'm trying to figure if the continual roaming (and giving me a bunch of false client associations), is a big problem. So far, it doesn't seem to be...but I would prefer that it didn't do that.

Other radios, might have their own bugs?

I understand from someone who uses the Gen IIs, that they work fine...although I don't know if that was in AP mode or CPE mode...or both.

the firmware on the HGA's is rebranded from Aprouter.com.br
the version that Rich use is similar to the orginal Aprouter6.1
wich have exakt the same Problems. Login twice and showing a
higher number of clients than aktually connected and some other smal bugs.
How ever the RTL8186 radios are not that bad..and some of the
firmware bugs can be fixed.

I feel I need to say that Rich has been quite helpful to me when I have asked him questions. He has been quite nice and helpful to me. I apologize for being remiss in saying this.

I had concerns about the 8186, but now I found that I can be quite comfortable with my 8186 as long as I user the Polyphaser on it. All APs should have a dc grounded antenna system in most cases anyway...and I didn't at first. I was causing my own problems there by not knowing to have my antenna system dc grounded. Initially I goofed and was using the gas tube protectors, which are not dc grounded.

However the grounding didn't fix the need to log in twice...lol. I can easily live with that.

I found the 2300s to work well as CPEs.

So I plan to use the 8186 MAXX as an AP.

So why didn't you ask him this question? If nobody complains, when will the issue be fixed?

I complained to Rich and got my answer but no offer for a fix. I only have a few of his units so I can tolerate the double logon.

I couldn't image running hundreds of them and having to constantly logon twice. Being the obsessive person I am, that would drive me nuts.

Hi LLigetfa:

I did ask him that on 6/23. He said to clear out my cache and temp files. It might be an XP problem.

I find I get different perspectives on looking at a problem, by talking to different people about it.

I will admit that I didn't clear out my cache and temp files yet. I have to figure where they are first...lol...so I can clear them out. But I don't have any problems logging into my Deliberant radios.

I was making my grounding and false associations concerns more of a priority, so I kind of pushed aside the login concern. I worked on the grounding and false associations first. Now that they are taken care of, I guess I will try to figure where these cache and temp files are so I can clear them out. Maybe that will take care of the logging in.

Eh, just as an update... Today I installed the latest bits on my debian "Lenny" and the newest Iceweasel now keeps the ID/pwd for the second logon. It still takes two tries to get in but since I told Iceweasel to save the password and the first attempt always fails, the second attempt now works without my having to re-enter the ID/pwd.

So... I no longer have to type in either the ID or the password.
