No special software. The modem can be on any outlet, provided the signal levels are within specs.
Motorola SB5100 series seem to be the preferred modem, but just about any DOCSIS 1.1/2.0 compliant modem should be fine. |

| You may have to reconfigure the order of the splitter(s) if you switch modem locations. Generally they spit the incoming signal into HSI and Tv. Followed by another splitter on the TV side to cover all the TV outlets. This keeps the signal high to the HSI. When you move the modem just swap the cable from the TV secondary splitter to the HSI primary splitter. |
