Re: Can You Recommend a Good Wireless/Wired Combo Router?

Pretty well all consumer wireless routers have four LAN ports that act as a switch. As long as you aren't looking for routing/firewalling between ports, basically any would do. I really like the range on the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 but they are hard to come by. As a second choice I would go with ZyXEL or ASUS.

Thanks for the info and the product tips, Lligetfa. Judging from the rave reviews for the WHR-HP-G54 at epinions.com, I would say that a lot of users agree with you.

FYI concerning the WHR-HP-G54's availability, several of them, both new and used, are listed on eBay.

A combo unit from zyxel is the Zywall 2WG. It provides either A or G wifi, and can even have celluar wan backup. Probably pricey but certainly fits the business part of your application. Specifically I like its three firewalled separate LAN zones so that you could easily separate family usage and business usage.
