Even the best antenna designs provide only 20dB of separation between orthogonal polarizations. So if you are flooding an H-pol site with -50dBm level V-pol waves, it will see -70dBm noise floor.

Maybe you can use 5Ghz or even 2.4Ghz backhaul?

Fredericton, NB		 I've tried 5.2GHz, can't do it without LOS though. This is all NLOS.
