Re: Since controversial news isn't allowed in the NoCal forum...

No shocker there, Gavin Newsom pretty much flaunts the law of CA, look at the gay marriage issue, though we plan to fix that this November. It's a shame, SF and the Bay Area are so beautiful, but are currently plagued by a huge thorn by the name of Gavin, it's time to pluck it out. As a Democrat, I also think he should have his membership revoked, maybe he and Ylen could join the "Flaunt the law" party

All this pales in comparison though to the nuttiness of Berzerkley and Marin County, don't even get me started on those two.

Yep, because gay marriage is exactly the same as drug dealing. Don't hate people, practice what you preach please.

I'm sorry, what exactly are "we" going to fix? And who is "we"?

And before anyone points this out, I"m entertaining a career move that could move me back to California. If it does, you can be damn sure I'll be there in time to register and vote down ANYTHING that voids gay marriage. Marriage is NOT a religious state, it is a civil contract.

And civil rights can't be mandated by the voters. If that was
the way things worked, civil rights for, say, blacks would have been a ballot issue. It can't be, and never will be.

My suggestion to people like Mike, move to Utah if civil rights for gays offends your sensibilities/religious precepts.

What "we" are "we" speaking of here? Not me--I am happy that gays are finally being treated as equals.

Would someone for once and for all explain how gay people being married *civilly* threatens the institution of marriage? Does it make hetero marriages automatically implode? Or is this all because heteros will be jealous of the much nicer wedding parties that the gays will have?

I mean, I just fail to see how the marriage of gays and lesbians has anything at all to do with me. I am for equality for everyone. Churches are free to marry or not marry whomever they wish, but the government should treat everyone equally.

Is that anyway to talk about the media's darling and a possible future governor of California?

Quite frankly it's time to donate that little bit of the state and its citizens to Mexico. Then we can build a nice little wall around that dump.

Man, did this post make a left hand turn from illegal alien drug dealers being let loose to gay marriage.

Unless...The drug dealer was getting married in SFO to another man. That must be it.
