<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1300816"><b>jpabboud</b></A> : I did the wiring in our 4300 sq ft house, in total I have 80 different wires (about 50 CAT 6 and 30 RG-6), the best quote I got was $45 per run, I ended up saving thousands of dollars by doing it myself (before the dry wall was up).<br><br>Only regret was using copper coated steal for the RG-6, an all copper center would be better but it's much more expansive at $400 per 1000 sq ft.]]></description>

It was a unfinished basement and it wasnt to bad getting up through the walls.  I put 8 drops in, and the only hole's I had were the drywall rectangle for my low voltage box.<br><br>All I needed was a fish tape, string, beer and a Saterday afternoon. <br><br>Me and a Pal did his house a month later and he had a drop ceiling, it wasnt that much harder.<br><br>You save ALOT of money doing it yourself and it really is easy work ..... as long as you dont have to get into much drywall repair that is.]]></description>

Some != "Any".<br><br>Many electricians have no clue what they're doing as far as voice/data cabling goes. Every new house I've seen in the past three years had Cat 5e stapled to studs because they were done by the builders' electricians.<br><br>In a residential environment, the chief problem being aesthetics, it might not be so easy or even possible to do what you want to do, once the drywall is up, if you're moving into a new house and not renovating. ]]></description>
