| reply to Seregog Re: [IL] Appt connection drop help (assuming bad cable modem)
Update:
Had a tech come to the Appt complex..fooled around with the router only and then said the connection is "fine". Got in touch with landlord again to see if he can get another FST to visit the complex and look at the cable modem only and look at signal noise. As before, packet loss at the 2nd hop and not connecting beyond it remains the issue.
I've also noticed that now the Upstream power level will hit 61.1 dBmV and take down the connection as well...
If the FST still deems that there is no problems on the line, what are my options..I'm just tired of reading emails for 10-20 min then loosing connection for 20..then back again for 5..on / off /on / off and it's making me lose my sanity. |

Typical of an Ambit after around 6 months of use. |

| Alrighty: after 2 months of me complaing to both Mediacom and to my landlord to the techs are looking at the right piece of hardware (of which they haven't) and talking: the Tech's still belive "nothing is wrong". I'm calling on monday to basicly beg my landlord to let me buy a brand-new cable modem for the complex. Question for you all: any recommendations as to what brand to shoot for? |
