This is mainly for Justin...
Could you please consider doing away with the time limit for replying to a thread??
Its totally un-needed,i see threads with a last reply from January and i cant reply (I have something to add to the thread)
Would you consider testing the idea on one base for a month and see if it goes ok?? (I dont care what base you decide to try it on) (If it doesnt workout,we'll just forget the whole idea..)
Dates dont mean anything and i hate having to repost my threads because my older ones i cant reply to anymore! (Games for example (To update my score))
Thanx for considering! |

| You may not be looking for a bunch of "'Object' replys", but the whole purpose of this forum is to propose new features and have members (and anons, which is LOL) vote on whether or not we should have that feature. Granted, justin is the final say, but when no one but one member wants it, it's not likely to happen. |

| reply to Dude111 Is this just a particular thread you want to reopen? Or just in general to unlock all threads or extending time limits?
As of right now I don't see the reason for it. If its locked it is for a reason and if its expired than start a new thread.
IMO of course. And if you want to direct a question to justin why not send him a message? Just a thought. |

I would like to resurrect some threads from 1999.
Well it would be OK provided these conditions
1) All the links in the thread were STILL VALID (@ least the opening post)
2) No unformatted text on the thread...
I have replied to threads from 1999 and there is NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!!!!!
Here is one such thread
www.landofthelost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2129
And another (Last reply 2005)
www.landofthelost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3151
DATES MEAN NOTHING and I dont know why so many ppl get all worked up over them...... (ITS QUITE STUPID)
I was hoping Justin would pick 1 base and try it for a week,if it didnt work out we would cancel the whole idea.. (People replying to threads w/invalid links would cancel the idea)
I was thinking maybe THIS BASE would be a good base to try it on
Ah well....... |

| reply to Dude111 *object*, because it's hell on the moderators. You get a new member and they don't look at the last post date on threads and run through adding their comment to threads from 18 months ago, thinking the issue is current. Then everybody else chimes in calling the n00b a dumbass, and all of a sudden the mod has 100 threads to hack the end off of. |

Someone might start replying to posts from 1999 and think there's nothing wrong with it. |

I find it hard to find relevance in a thread from 2 years ago on a site that deals with broadband. Think what you were doing 2 years ago, or even in 1999, and compare it to now.
Frankly, Find some old threads that MIGHT have some relevance now and link to them and maybe you will help your point. |
