luminaire : Didn't mean to hate, or imply that your company would be a flash in the pan. I was attempting to say what sporkme said. My company acts as an upstream for several wisps. Because most of them are single homed and we have plenty of upstream bandwidth we peer with them, and allocate them as many justified IPs as they need. We then provide them with as much bandwidth as they want (can pay for) and they go on their merry way. Some of them have their own ASNs and PI blocks, and for those guys we peer with, and advertise their blocks upstream. Some of them don't have their own ASNs so we peer with a private ASN and then strip it when we announce upstream. Once again, didn't mean to imply that your business was short lived. That was my bad.

luminaire : If you have no BGP experience I would suggest simply approaching a local carrier and buying a large connection off of them (10-20mbps), and a /24 or so of IP space. If the business lasts a year or so then you can think about getting your own ASN and PI blocks however WISPs tend to be short lived, so why not play it safe?

Some other sends the "sample configuration" (i.e. Verizon calls it configlet).

In general the configuration would depend on several factors such as whether internal or external modem is used, what kind of DS-3 circuit will be (channelized or not), and what the Layer-2 encapsulation is (i.e. frame relay, HDLC, or PPP).
