| [Firmware] Best Firmware for WRT54GS v5
So I am going to need some logging capabilities for my home router. I know that a lot of people like different 3rd party firmware, but I was hoping someone could give me a breakdown on what is out there, will let me set up logging and is likely to a) be free and b) remain so. Also, I would rather not completely fry my router.

I can say with confidence that the top two free firmware contenders for the WRT54 lineup are DD-WRT and Tomato. Unfortunately for you Tomato does not support WRT54GS v5 (see »en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Tomato_Fir···_devices)
DD-WRT does support remote logging which is probably what you would want to use (stores logs to target PC on network). |
