[Wired] RV082 and DSL problem - fixed!

I thought I'd take a momement and post a solution that just helped me a lot. I could not get our new DSL business connection to work with a new RV082 router. We have a Westel modem, but I am guessing that this may be a similar problem with many other router/modem combo setups. MANUALLY ASSIGN THE DNS SERVERS. Find your our ISP's DNS servers and log into the RV082. You will find the DNS option under the "DHCP" tab.
I fought with this for hours - I was sure the problem had to do with bridged/unbridged mode in the modem, but it wasn't. I was able to setup a successful PPPoE connection with a WRT54GL router WITHOUT the modem in bridged mode: it was pulling the correct PUBLIC ip address. (we were assinged 2 public static IP's from the ISP) But in the RV082, it would not pull any addres from the ISP w/out going to bridged mode. Even then, I couldn't pull a page - traffic wouldn't resolve correctly, which indicated a DNS issue. So 4 hours and a dozen resets later, here's the 20 second fix. This is no doubt an issue in the RV082 firmware (1.3.6-q50). Other than that, what a great router! hope this helps somebody.
