Re: Buying a new ASUS notebook

Hi Pete,

Thanks a lot for caring

OK, I need a notebook for mainly running Photoshop and keeping all my image files which grow really fast.

I watch the occasional movies in my laptop when I download P2P for movies never released in Australia and impossible to find here.

What do you think about these two?

IThe G1S would to me, appear to be a lesser choice due to the slowish (4200rpm) hard drive...at the cost of that system, that drive is slow...and not that spacious. For downloading movies and working with video images/photos, I would want a larger and faster hard drive. If it came with another choice in hard drives, that might be different.

The M70SA-C1, albeit pricey, has a very nice configuration, dual hard drives, and since you are into movies/photos etc., the 17" screen may be to your liking...as long as you don't schlepp this all over the place...a 17" screen model tends not to be a convenient "travel-companion", although for it's size, the weight isn't that bad...

Again though, ask yourself if you will really use blue-tooth, Blu-Ray, etc., after all, you are paying for these features! If you do plan to use them, then it appears to be a very nice system.
