McSummation Mmmm, Zeebas Are Tastee. Premium,MVM join:2003-08-13 Round Rock, TX | I'm sorry, Mr. Toad. Sometimes my "old self" jumps up and says what's on his mind.
But with all the TV schedules saying "9/8 central" I thought everybody in Central time zone would know we're "1 hour less than Eastern". |

It's a method that makes this site great. |

| reply to Hoostan Think about it this way: Take a map of the U.S. The sun goes across from east to west; so whomever is east of you is always ahead and west of you is behind.
Said another way: The sun comes up on the east coast before it comes up where you are (CDT), therefore their time is ahead of yours.
Daylight savings can throw a curveball in some cases, but remember that if both time zones are using DST then nothing changes regarding the calculations as they both "sprang forward" or "fell back". |

| reply to Hoostan I like this one, as I'm often having to check various International time zones. The same site, but linked for the US; click on Houston, hit the back button and click on Florida. Or/ simply click on the State you are dealing with, as you know your own time already.
