[TWC] digital phone

i'm looking into triple play packages, phone, internet, tv

my choices are twc and verizon, both seem to be the same price (although i know verizon has $15 a month extra bs fees and taxes on the phone service alone and i talked to a vz rep and they told me there are bs fees on the internet and cable as well so i'm guessing it costs $30 more per month than they advertise when you get an actual bill!)

If i go with twc, and get a "digital phone" does this mean when i use a lot of bandwidth phone calls will not sound good? or what if they only give me 384 upload bandwidth - won't this mean phone calls will sound bad? (they just say 3x speed of dsl but do not ever tell me the actual speed of they service i'm buying

Time Warner's Digital Phone offering uses it's own bandwidth separate from your high speed connection. Saturating your bandwidth will not affect the call quality nor will being on the phone degrade the amount of bandwidth you have available for other services.

thanks for the info. Makes it harder choice for me. I called and apparently they claim its 10 / 1.5 which is faster than vz which is 3 / 768. So i'm leaning towards twc because of the faster internet, also i suspect there will be less fees than vz.

Only thing is i'm hoping they don't have to run extra wire for the digital phone? I have 1 cable jack where i want the "digital phone" and my wireless router. Can both the phone and the wireless router for internet be hooked up through this one jack or do they have to run another wire through the house for the digital phone.

Re: [TWC] digital phone

Considering the last few posts were somehow lost, I guess I'll have to repost.

Unless you request otherwise, TWC will provide a modem that includes both the HSI modem and the phone adapter in one device using one coax line. A good example is the page right here: »crazytechsite.com/DPX2203_VoIP.htm The Webstar line of modems are the ones that seem to be commonly distributed in this TWC region, but other digital phone capable modems will be very similar.
