They will be in a very comfortable prison just like Stewart.

Exactly!

Think of low-security federal correctional centers as a myspace for wealthy older republicans to social network.

Here is a pic i took of a federal prison a month ago after i just toured the place.

Yes those are federal prisoners and they could walk out at any time.

The place was REALLY nice. It looks like a country club or resort.

yeah looks much better than maximum secuity, but let me ask you this, would you trade your FREEDOM and spend 20 years there? A prison no matter how nice is still a prison.

The lesson to be learned here is that if you are going to steal, steal millions. If you steal something small like a car, you'll wind up in a prison with fewer amenities.

True, but the point is prisoners shouldn't be living in accommodations like that just because they committed white collar crime. They should be in the same "pound me in the ass" prisons that everyone else ends up in.

better make it bigger than a car tho...that barely gets you enough time for a vacation break around here. They finally locked up a car thief for 5 years i think it was......after 25 various arrests/convictions

Maybe if the car you steal has a quarter ounce of weed in the glove box.....

Meh, they still got some real time at least even if it ain't much of a real prison.

That picture doesn't really do justice to the campus. It is REALLY nice, but i took that from the road as i was driving away. They wouldn't let us take pics on the tour. They have a program where inmate can become certified master gardners and that's why the grounds a re so nice. THey also have a good tennis program from what i've heard.

BTW they also pay for you to go to college if you want, while i have to take out student loans... they also get free personal care items like shampoo ect.

The state pen we went to they have to pay for college themselves and they have to buy their own personal care items.

Federal is the way to go for sure.

BTW something like 88% of the people in the federal prison were there for drug charges. So basically, sell drugs and party, then get a free ride through college while living in luxury.

I will not exactly call it freedom just because you may be able to move about when you want, when in reality you are subjet to law enforcement intervention for no reason whatsoever and have to be looking over your shoulder all the time.

Why? What would it accomplish? Why not simply confiscate all of the criminals possessions leaving them penniless, atleast that would be more fitting.

Otherwise, you explain to me with one clear rational thought what putting a white collar criminal in with murderers and rapists accomplishes.

As opposed to plain old prisons where illegal immigrants like gang members of MS 13 can live on the dime of taxpaying citizens till some whiney ass lib
ACLU lawyer gets them out on early parole.

Leave them penniless? Then we'd be supporting them via welfare, etc.

Another person taking (as usual) a completely uninformed swipe at the ACLU who obviously has no clue what they do.
