| IPv6 information
Anyone interested in IPv6 related information, can visit:

Being a wiki, if you have anything that could help improve the documentation there feel free to add it. One entry that is probably worth reading is:
This explains how a subnet works in an IPv6 world. Basically a subnet is what you use for your 'private network'. Just to expand here, IPv4 uses a 32 bit address and IPv6 uses a 128 bit address. With IPv6 the first 64 bits are used for 'network addresses' and the second 64 bits you get to decide how to share between your computers. The IP address for your computer is a combination of the first 64-bit and the second 64-bits. With IPv6 you get more addresses for your devices than the whole IPv4 internet put together!
Disclaimer: I don't work for sixxs.net, but I am interested in trying to make life easier for people new to IPv6. I know how lost I was when I first started. |
