I had a SB 5101 and I was able to use it for a long time with no problems, including going back to when it was Sigecom where I live in Evansville. Suddenly a few months ago it went from working fine, to randomly the config file would go from the top tier to some lower tier(still being billed for the top tier). No explanation could ever be given for why I would randomly get the loser config file pushed to my modem other than that they couldn't promise the best speeds with my own modem only with theirs. This makes no sense to me because when my modem had the correct config file, I was able to get the full 6mbps down. The only time I had problems is when they randomly pushed the wrong config out to me and then I could call them, complain, and they would push the right config. Bam right back to having full speeds until the wrong config was pushed out to my modem again.
How you convined WOW! to give that 6.0 speed config?

I think I'll give it a try if I find the right rep.

Well I had to complain for awhile to them that hey, 3 days ago it was working fine and now it's on a different config. Eventually they would give in and re-push it to me. I should also note I suppose, eventually it started to happen more often(I don't know why it happened at all but it sure seemed odd that suddenly it happened alot) but it became hassle enough that I gave in and took one of their modems, with a credit each month for 2 years to take care of the fee for the modem.
