Since 2002, I have paid the same $42.95 for Comcast svc and I have gotten a half dozen speed increases without paying any more. Sounds like a good deal to me. But I am sure there are plenty who will still complain that they are getting ripped off. -- My BLOG .. .. Internet News .. .. My Web Page |

| Looks like Blast! doesn't have that much of an advantage now for those of us who need upstream speed. The only reason I decided to upgrade from Perf. Plus to Blast! was for the 2mb upload. I don't need 16mb down for the price difference they charge us in the Chicago area. Looks like I'm going to call and downgrade to save some money for gas. |

Well, you could say that the rate increases on the cable tv (at least 2 rate increases per year in my area) subsidizes the Internet cost and keeps it down. |

Most major corporations make each line of business meet separate profit goals and hold their managers responsible to meet them. Short term inducements to conquer new customers(promotion deals) may cross-subsidize, but over time each line of business must meet their own goals. -- My BLOG .. .. Internet News .. .. My Web Page |

| reply to bshelly if $10's is going to significanty help you with your purchasing of gasoline, then you have bigger problems than a price difference for your internet speed packages. the $10 difference for me is = to just one trip to work and back. Gas sucks, especially now that it is closing in in some areas to $5 or even higher. if it equaled a tank of gas, the internet would be gone, but $10 seems a little insignificant. |
