8meg tier?

Will this replace the 8meg tier? I still find it pretty shitty that Comcast is screwing us Chicago area peeps with them still having the 8meg speed tier on top of the 16meg.

Unless they are on a promotion for the 8meg, then they are not upgraded to the 16/2 tier.

I just went off what the article said. :3

"Customers who already get Comcast's highest-speed service, which offers 8 Mbps downloads and 1 Mbps uploads, will be automatically upgraded to the faster service at no charge. The automatic upgrade to the new higher-speed service, called BLAST!, begins June 31. "

Yes, but if they are on a promotion, they will not be upgraded automatically. If you pay regular price for 8mb, you will be upgraded to 16mb.

Where did you hear or read that you have to pay regular price to get the 16mb upgrade?? I just called and set up a transfer of service from Natomas area of Sacramento to Rancho Cordova and I signed up for the Double Play $69.99 plus an extra $10 for the new 16MB tier. I confirmed with 2 reps that the 16MB upgrade applies to all of the Central CA comcast cluster and I would get the upgrade on June 30th. My installation at new address is scheduled for July 8th.
