| Slow speeds from NPG cable in Camp Verde
I have been a customer of NPG Cable of Sedona for years now and have had their "High Speed Internet" for a couple years now and I am really unhappy with their service thus far. I would switch ISPs but this is the only option I have in my area. Currently I am getting between 100-300 Kbs download and like 471 Kbs upload. at peak time. In the morning I get like 1800 Kbs and still 471-570 upload speed. I have placed many calls to their customer service and Cheetah tech support and all i get is the normal checklist to trouble shoot my equipment. It is not my equipment I know this for bloody sure. I was finally able to contact an individual with the company that told me that they are aware of the problem and are working on it and it could take up to a month. Now this would not be so bad if it was the only time it ever happened but i can count like 3 or 4 times that the internet has been like this for a month at a time. I pay almost $40 a month to receive "High Speed Internet" and am getting very mad that the internet keeps have problems. My personal belief is that they have to many users for the amount of bandwidth that they own and are to cheap to upgrade until they have a problem. Even with the internet the way it is right now I bet if I called to set up a new internet account with them they would do it without saying a word that they are having a problem at this time. I urge anybody in the Verde Valley with this internet company that sits and waits for minutes for a page to load on what considered to be high speed internet to call the 928-204-1085 phone number and speak to customer service and tell them how unhappy you are with the internet at this time and that you would like credit for this month because the money you and all the other subscribers pay each month should pay for the upgrades before they get a problem of this type. I mean think about it if they project another hundred users in the next month all paying $40 that is $4000 dollars from them alone and from what I can see a t1 is only a small percentage of that $4000. The only way I see to make them clean up their act and provide us with what they advertise is to hit them in the pocket book. If they get enough people calling them and asking for credit then maybe they will be more careful not to let this happen again. |

| I know what you are talking about, I have the same problem in Washington with Wave Broadband where the line is hot (6 megs or more download side)in the morning and by mid afternoon I am getting slower (1.3 meg download) and slower and by evening it is (356Kbs). Trying to get the problem resolved is futile at the highest levels and there are no state or federal regulations to make them accountable, it looks to be a very common practice...the old "bait and switch". |
