How to Forwards Ports on the Siemens SE 567

I read the post on how SE 567 is similar to other models, however I still cannot get mine to work. Here is my current configuration:

What am I missing? I made the Static IP, and I believe I made the correct changes to the Port Forwarding part. Am I missing something?

Nothing from no one?
No one can forward ports on this piece of a modem?

Your gateway address is incorrect and so is the IP range you're using. Try setting the IP to 192.168.1.196 on the modem and your computer and set the Gateway address to the modem's address of 192.168.1.254.

Try that.

I wasn't able to establish an internet connection using these settings. I'm not that computer smart, so if you can please explain what I'm doing wrong.

Put the gateway address as your preferred DNS. You keep using 192.168.0.1 but you don't have anything on that address. Your modem is your gateway and it is 192.168.1.254. Either that or simply leave the DNS options blank and it'll automatically use the gateway for DNS.

i was on the phone with telus for 3 hours yesterday, and pretty much i got bossed around. Telus does not support this product at all. Neither does Siemens. I got about 10 different phones numbers and 6 of them were dead, and the rest were phone numbers to other companies.

Today, i was finally able to get a correct siemens phones number, but all the guy said was go to portforward.com or go to dslreports.com.. i just laughed at the guy.. i told him that everyone from those sites are having the same problems as me. He then told me that I should call their department in the morning for proper assistance. Apparently they are located in IRELAND and that its best for us to call them 9am in the morning (our time).

This is compeltly bullshit if you ask me. Everyone from Telus has no idea whats going on. My advice, return this product ASAP or try to bridge it (have not tried that).

You can do whatever you want to port forward but this product will not support it. Blame TELUS.

not quite sure why everyone's having issues with it...
I have 2 computers running on it... utorrent on both and have not had any issues.
I also have the TELUS homesitter service w/2 wireless camera's and was able to set up the port forwarding for
that as well (it was a pain but that's a "normal" setup)
I also have my dlink dsm-320 and my xbox running without issues....
PLUS I have my slingbox running on it and was able to configure that to work.

Seriously I don't know what's going on with your units.

edit: I should state that I've had all these running previously. I'm using the 2wire currently due to my line conditions (same setup)

but are you allow to open any ports on the Siemens se 567? It will say on my router that it is open but its not really. Its blocked. I even have a DMZ option for my ps3 yet, i am still having problems with this.

my utorrent's have 2 different ports opened (so I can seed)
my homesitter camera's can both send and receive information (on 2 different ports each, if i remember correctly)
my dsm-320 (can't remember)
my xbox (can't remember)
my slingbox has ports opened so it can both send and receive information

I do NOT use static ip's for any of my devices.

well i am on my third SE 567. I know how to portforward and all. i have done it in the pass with other routers. I am simply throwing this one away and I am planning to buy a new one. Well i dont have to throw it away completey. I can just disable the router on this one and bridge the modem with a different router.

have you tried to use it as a standard modem?
apparently if you just plug a router directly in it will immediately switch to that mode

I've never had any problem port forwarding both the Seimens and the 2wire.

Almost everytime I've come across someone having problems with port forwarding is due to a software firewall causing conflicts.

Let me add that if you're trying to verify that the port is open by using some sort of ping check or something like »www.canyouseeme.org/ you have to make sure you have something serving on the port you're testing or it will have nothing to connect to and will appear the same way if you didn't have the port forwarded.

This is the problem with using those programs with torrent software, a lot of the time the software uses a port range and randomly opens ports within that range. It's pretty hard to verify if the port isn't actively being served to.

If you go to a terminal command prompt and open a connection by typing 'telnet localhost port#' and it says connection refused then you don't have anything hosted on that port for the rest of the world to see as 'open'.
ie 'telnet localhost 22' to check to see sshd is running properly.

I use utorrent to check if the port forwarding is working correctly...

I've had utorrent's check come up and say blocked one minute and then a minute later it'll say it's not blocked. So I don't fully trust it, I'd rather use something that I know works for checking to be 100% sure.

If it works for you though, that's great.

And since a picture speaks louder than words.. I just port turned on my sshd and port fowarded it and took a couple snaps of before and after. IP has been masked but you can clearly see it works without any problems and took all of about 45 seconds to set up.

Also, if you do use »www.canyouseeme.org/ pay attention to whether the reason it's failing is a connection timing out or connection refused. If you get connection refused, your port is forwarded but you have nothing to connect to.

If you can't figure out how to use the one TELUS provides you then you can always call and request a Thomson Speedtouch (simple modem) rather than an integrated router/modem combination like the Seimen's. Then you can use your own router.

No secret. I've configured dozens of these things and never had any problem. As I said before, the main problem I see users overlooking is software firewalls, especially the Windows firewall.

I do not have any software firewall installed on my computer. My windows firewall is disabled. I have tried everything. I know how to forward ports. I have done it in the past with other routers. This is my 3rd router that Telus has sent me.
