Alltel Wi-Fi to add 7,000 Starbucks Locations

Alltel Wi-Fi to add 7,000 Starbucks Locations
Between late May 2008 and the 4th Quarter of 2008, Alltel’s Wi-Fi service will add access to over 7,000 Starbucks’ hotspot locations across the United States.

Alltel’s roaming partners will be taking over the Starbucks’ hotspot locations on a market by market basis throughout the remainder of the year.

As each Starbucks’ hotspot location becomes available it will be added to the Wi-Fi location finder located at »https://wifi.alltel.com. Once a Starbucks’ hotspot location becomes available, Alltel Wi-Fi subscribers will have unlimited access to the hotspot location at no additional charge.

Alltel Wi-Fi Customers must have a laptop with Windows XP or better, and install the Alltel Wi-Fi Connection software to connect to the Starbucks’ Wi-Fi hotspots. The software is available for free download at »software.alltel.com/.

Access to Starbucks’ Wi-Fi locations is not free to non-Alltel Wi-Fi subscribers. Non-Alltel Wi-Fi subscribers must purchase one of several Starbucks gift cards or memberships to get access to Starbucks’ Wi-Fi locations.

Once all the Starbucks’ hotspot locations have been added, Alltel’s Wi-Fi will have access to over 25,000 hotspot locations - nearly three times as many locations as there were in the beginning of the year.

With Alltel Wi-Fi, Customers can get unlimited broadband Internet access with their Wi-Fi enabled laptop at thousands of Wi-Fi hotspots in great locations such as:
• North American airports
• Major hotels (Hilton, Marriott, and Embassy Suites)
• Barnes and Noble Booksellers
• McDonald’s restaurants
• And now over 7,000 Starbucks

With the launch of the Internet Anywhere Bundle (rate plan code AXWF/feature code WIWF), Customers can access all of these hotspots and Alltel’s Nationwide 1x and EVDO network for only $69.98 per month.
