342 kb/s would seem to me to be a bogus upload speed for either a 4000 or 6000 modem. To get that with a 7000 series, you'd have to be paying business plan rates. You might want to get a second opinion on that throughput - especially the TX
But the question still waiting for an answer is - what system DO you currently have?
