San Ramon, CA | Are laptops safe to place near magnets?
I need to place a laptop near a sub woofer from a 2.1 speaker. I don't know if the sub is shielded. It won't be turned up very loud so I'm not worried about vibrations, just magnets. |

| Many satellite speakers are sheilded, but many sub woofers are not, primarily because they develop a pretty strong magnetic field that is not so easy to effectively sheild.
I would not recommend keeping your your laptop in close proximity. Your hard drive alone is reason enough not to do so.
