:I've been asked to improve our wi-fi in a small business environment and poor old uneducated me is trying to simply replace a WRT54G with a WRT350N. I assumed that it would be as easy as unplugging one and plugging in the other.
Our setup is:
Modem > WRT54g > WRT54g > users
We want our setup to be
Modem > WRT54g > WRT350N > users
What we found when we switched was that people couldn't connect to the net, and if they did email failed and some websites were slower. There was no problem connecting to the WRT350N network though. What's going on, is there some conflict between the routers?
Are you using "stock" linksys firmware? You have corresponding compatible versions of DD-WRT for the WRT54g and WRT350N (v1). DD-WRT could be even installed in the WRT350N (assuming it is a v1) and configured as a repeater bridge of the WRT54G.
