One point however the settings may or may not work with different firmware versions. So if you get a replacement router that has newer firmware you'd have to flash down to the 1.3.2 for the restore to work correctly.

Everytime I flash to a newer firmware I save the current settings before I flash to the newer version. Does this Preferences file include ALL RV082 settings, including all Static IP assignments ( including MAC info of all connected devices ( I have PC's, DLINK network webcams, and a Slingbox), port forwarding & port triggering rules/assignments, etc, or just the very basis ISP connection info or RV082 basic setup data?

Reason I ask is whether, in the event the RV082 dies, would using the Import function on a replacement RV082 ( or RV016) truly replicate all the current RV082 settings, such as the static IPs and port forwarding rules.

Running original firmware of 1.3.2 ( if it ain't broke, don't fix it)
