It would be better to change the SSID of the router to a different name so that you can make sure that you are connecting to your own wireless network. So, instead of having "linksys" as your SSID, change it to a different name of your choice. It would also help if you will enable the wireless security. Just set it to 64 bit WEP. After changing the SSID and setting up the WEP on the router, configure it on the settings of the Belkin wireless configuration. When you are already connected, observe the connection if it will be stable or not.
